When you first notice that you might have a raccoon problem in your area there are a few things you need to do.

The first thing you need to do is make sure that, if you have a chimney, that the opening of it is covered by some sort of metal mesh that will not allow the raccoons to climb down into and enter your home. Also you need to make sure that if you have any area’s in your home.

Or on your roof where you have access points into your home. You need to make sure that those are all fixed as soon as possible so that the raccoon does not haveĀ a chance to make a nest in your home.

Also if you notice that you have a raccoon problem but the problem is not inside, but outside you need to look into trapping supplies. Say for instance the animal is getting into your garbage or eating away at your garden. There are many different traps for these animals but the most common is the live bait traps.

These live bait traps are the same used for game like rabbits, opossums, and different small game as well. They are metal cages with a trap door that closes down after the creature has entered the trap. These traps for raccoons should be baited with things like sardins, or fresh vegetables to attract the animals the most.
